Premiere: October 24-25th, 2014 | Jewish Community Center, SF
Lush, beautiful, sensuous, engaged: Line of Beauty began as a response to 18th century English painter, satirist, and writer William Hogarth’s essay on beauty not being a straight line and became an investigation of love over time, aided by Jane Hirshfield’s elegant poetry, which led us to to develope a new work For the Time Being. Composer Albert Mathias created the sound design, creating an audial world in which the performance lies.
